Valencia has plenty of places to party or socialise over a drink, with cafes, bars and clubs dotted around the heart of the city. You might need to plan ahead, though, as there’s no recognisable party strip, although El Carmen, the old town, is the popular nightlife hotspot. Partying in Valencia, like most places in Spain, takes it to a new level. Nights start late, and with most clubs, the party doesn’t get going until 1/2am, so it's customary to stay out until daybreak. Be sure to try the wine and sangria while you’re there, and don’t miss the tapas bars.
