Aroeira 1
With Lisbon only 20 km away, this course if set on a 900-acre resort on the Setubal Peninsula. It was designed by Frank Pennink, and it opened in 1972. It's a Par 72, & sits over 6600-yards, running through a dense pine forest. It was that popular that it held the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997, with the British press dubbing it the "Wentworth of Lisbon." There are long avenues of tall pines, with each hole having its own difficulties despite there being absolutely no bunkers. A great course!
