Hotel very noisy, hard to sleep. Good facilities and good staff.

Why the hotel thought it was OK to put people in rooms resembling a hostel I don't know, they were not surprised at all when we returned to reception and they immediately handed over another key. Clearly they were chancing their arm at putting us in the outdated and crumbling rooms, hoping to save the nicer ones for later. What an insult!! The room we eventually settled on had marks over the walls and stained headboards. Our electrics were crackling and so we reported this, only to be assured by the hotel staff that they were safe to use. They contacted an electrician but only after we insisted upon it. When he arrived we were instructed not to touch the sockets as they were very dangerous. Take what you will from that. The communal areas of the hotel had been updated with two nice comfortable bars etc. Some staff were accomodating and friendly but the younger bar staff were sullen and rude. This hotel obviously places more value on some guests over others.

The hotel room we were allocated for three was in need of refurbishment. It was tired with an old thin brown carpet, old bathroom flooring & ripped wallpaper.

Staff were friendly and the food was high standard. Unfortunately some of the rooms need updating.

The hotel in general is very tired and shabby and in need of redecoration. The hotel room we were allocated was awful, like a hostel and it was dirty. After complaining about the room and viewing lots of different rooms, we settled on the 7th room which was an upgraded room. It had obviously been refurbished but was very small.
