3★ Thistle City Barbican

The hotel was good. Check in was smooth and the concierge was very efficient regarding looking after luggage pre checkin and also ordering taxis etc. The rooms were small but as we were not intending to spend a lot of time there this was not a problem. The breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice and we were very impressed (and pleased!) that it is served until 11am on weekends. Only minor criticisms were that it would have been nice to have had a mini bar/fridge in the room as we had brought champagne for our event and needed to keep it cool. Also service in the bar was very slow. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the hotel to others.

The hotel was accomodating and very flexible to our needs. A lovely stay!!

Lovely hotel

Terrible hotel room, heating on Full blast, couldn’t turn the heating down or open the window. Was woken by a fire alarm on the middle of the night on sat and then evacuated early Sunday morning. So no lay ins any where

Thistle Barbican is a 3 star hotel but I give it a 4 start for accommodation, service, buffet breakfast.

The rooms we were in were not air conditioned and the rooms on 4th floor were unbearably hot. 30+ degrees all the time.
