Lower Gardens

The Lower, Central and Upper Gardens are all part of the Bourne Valley Greenway in Bournemouth and are Grade II listed in the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens. Since 1999, they have been Green Flag winners and run for over 3 kilometres from the famous Bournemouth pier to the boundary with Poole. The Lower Gardens are quite a short section of the garden complex, running from the pier to the town centre, but there is always lots going on there. You can take part in mini golf, grab some refreshments from the Hedgehog Kiosk or Street Food Corner, marvel at the exotic birds in the aviary and admire the work on display at the open-air art exhibition. There are also lots of exciting events held here throughout the year, with Christmas Tree Wonderland being one of the most spectacular.

Bournemouth Oceanarium

The Bournemouth Oceanarium offers a nice chance to view sea creatures up close and personal. The venue is relatively small; it takes visitors about an hour to get round, but still it is worth visiting, especially on a cold or rainy day, as there is quite a good selection of sealife to keep both young and old entertained.
