Set in the Dorset countryside near the village of West Moors, this characterful 200-year-old thatched cottage is a brilliant base for a group getaway. With plenty of space to spread out, a large kitchen and dining area and some cracking social spaces, it’s well set up for a weekend together while still putting Bournemouth within easy reach.
Inside, the cottage mixes original features such as exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace with a bright, spacious kitchen extension. There’s room for everyone to sit down together around the dining table, while the separate TV lounge and cosy snug bar give you plenty of options when you’re settling in for the evening.
The real bonus for groups is the separate games barn, complete with pool, table tennis and air hockey, so there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained without leaving the property. Outside, you’ll have a secluded courtyard and garden with seating and a BBQ area, plus the option to add a private hot tub to your stay.
Sleeping arrangements are spread across the main house and additional courtyard accommodation, with space for up to 16 guests and six bathrooms. There’s also off-road parking for several cars, making arrivals nice and straightforward.
When you fancy heading out, Bournemouth is around a 30-minute drive away, putting its beaches, bars, restaurants and nightlife within easy reach while giving you a quieter countryside base to come back to.
