The boat was clearly full so the gents on the entrance made up a story that one of our party was drunk. His eyes were not glazed, his speech was not slurred and he was not unsteady on his feet although the walk to the boat involved walking across ground where there were uprooted roots. The gents on the entrance could not offer any reasons why they insisted one of the party was drunk but could not evidence what made him form that opinion. Whilst waiting to get on the boat, I saw two girls with fixated pupils, unsteady on their feet, with pale clammy skin who looked stoned. They were left to board the boat without question. My belief is that the boat trip was over subscribed and in order to not have to reimburse, they decided to single one person in a group out. £30 for nothing.
