Thanks to its Welsh charm, non-stop party vibes and ongoing reputation of being an adventure playground (suitable for the biggest of kids) it's no wonder the Welsh capital of Cardiff is a popular destination for stag weekends. Home to an eclectic mix of old-world pubs and stylish bars, a bustling waterfront promenade and an inner city White Water Rafting course, there’s a little something here for everyone. Better yet, most of the cities main attractions are all within walking distance which, in short, means bye-bye cabs, hello expanding beer kitty.

This pedestrianised area is home to familiar eateries alongside independent steakhouses and Italian wine bars. Get ready for a meal with a view!

Nightlife

From daytime drinking to late night clubbing, Cardiff has it all and, thanks to the cities compact size, bar crawls are all the rage. For casual drinks with a view make your way to Mermaid Quay, for a trendy tipple check out The Friary, if you’re after branded pubs and party clubs take over St Mary’s Street or for a spot of live music check out Ten Feet Tall in the Castle Area. For the ultimate night out, we recommend a bar crawl stopping off at all four locations. Check out our guide to Cardiff nightspots for more inspiration.
